Christian Dailly is going to be missing for Charlton for the next month or so after fracturing his eye socket.

Dailly was injured after a clash of heads against Dagenham & Redbridge in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy last week and this forced him to miss the defeat at Exeter City on Saturday.

The 36-year-old will now have surgery on Wednesday and Phil Parkinson has said that this will keep him out for four to five weeks, however the bonus is he’ll be able to keep up his fitness as gym work can commence a few days after the surgery so the Scot should be able to return as soon as sufficient time for the socket to heal has passed.
