Charlton’s third win in the last four matches was effectively secured in the first 10 minutes. By this time the Addicks were two goals up, leaving Stockport with a mountain to climb.

A left-wing cross was headed out by Swailes but struck defensive partner Huntington and rebounded to nestle in the back of the net. Then a Richardson cross from the right was met by an unmarked Akpo Sodje to head home.

Charlton went on to dominate the first half with Kyel Reid causing havoc down the left. It was a more subdued performance after the break but the Addicks never looked like losing their stranglehold on the game.

I’m disappointed we didn’t add more to the earlier goals but the important thing was that we won.
