Lyle Taylor has been a magnificent player for Charlton, when times were hard he always stuck by the club, no matter what you heard before with the fraud that is Matt Southall, Taylor was used as a scapegoat and finally, it came to light after he was getting tons of abuse due to this situation where Southall said he turned down his contract when in fact it was lower than the one that Duchtalet had offered in the summer.
Can you name every league position Charlton has finished in within the last 20 years? I bet you can’t but feel free to prove me wrong!
During The Beautiful Game Podcast, Lyle Taylor was asked if he has a message for the Charlton fans if he never plays for us and here is what the star striker had to say
“It could only be thank you, thank you for everything you have given me, the support you have given me. If it is the end and I don’t play again it can only be thank you and I have loved the two years.
“I have no negative feelings or thoughts on my time at Charlton and to get promoted last year was unreal!”
It is such a shame that this could be the end for Lyle Taylor and Charlton he has been a fantastic player on and off the pitch and has served the Charlton community well with his October Cancer Research Campaigns and his numerous goals.
