Last night Charlton surprised the fan base with the arrival of midfielder Alex Gilbey as he became the first signing of the summer whilst currently under a transfer embargo, but now it looks like the second acquisition is not far away.

Hearts striker Conor Washington looks to be the next player to commit his future to The Addicks as he will be leaving Tynecastle to squad up in SE7 with the lads.
Washington still has a year to go on his contract at Hearts but manager Robbie Neilson is willing to let him leave as he is one of the highest earners at the Scottish side so it’s not exactly clear if a transfer fee will be included in this deal as they need to let him go to help shrink the wage bill, but a small fee will most likely take place.
Charlton have got everything sorted in this deal, they are just waiting on the EFL to greenlight it and everything will be done and we will have our new striker!
