Bowyer signs contract extension – is there a new owner working behind the scenes?

|

After a completely bonkers 24 hours which included doubts over Bowyer’s future, an outright statement from Roland Duchatelet stating Lee Bowyer had left the club and now we just received the news that Lee Bowyer has signed the contract extension!

Just another day as a Charlton fan, the beginning of the day started on a very positive note with the £200k signing of Leyton Orient’s Macauley Bonne, then just about a half hour later the Evening Standard reported that Bowyer was 50-50 to leave the club.

It just felt like a real typical Charlton thing to happen, after a nice bit of news to feast our eyes on that then send us crashing back down to reality. Not long after the article posted by the Evening Standard made the headlines, Roland then decided it would be great to play with us once more.

The statement he posted looked like it had been written by a 12-year-old throwing his toys out the pram, making up excuse after excuse, it is very embarrassing to be honest to have the club come out with such rubbish, but we have learnt the hard way the past 5 years and we know Roland is capable of anything ludicrous.

I am just so glad that things finally seem like they are going our way if we exclude what happened yesterday. However I don’t think this is all Roland’s doing, I think a new owner is working behind the scenes and he made Roland get Bowyer on an extension because he wants him at the club.

The ever so reliable Richad Cawley announced the news this morning.

I have nothing confirmed, but I have heard things about a potential new owner doing things behind the scenes so the deal with Mehmet Dalman is not dead in the water yet, again this all speculation, but it’s sure to get us all talking until 10am where Jim White will interviewing Roland Duchatelet on TalkSport.
