Bowyer on our amazing fans

|

Lee Bowyer was full of praise for the 817 travelling Charlton fans as they put on one hell of a show at Home Park singing loudly throughout the game as we got a 2-0 win plus a penalty save. It’s a very good atmosphere amongst the fans right now, I’m absolutely loving it. Let’s hope we can keep this form going into the playoffs or if results go our way hopefully we won’t have to do the playoffs but that is still very much an outside chance.

The gaffer spoke with the South London Press and here’s what he had to say about our amazing fans

“Our fans were unbelievable from start to finish. Someone from Plymouth came up to me afterwards and said they were a credit to our club. Plymouth is a million miles away – it’s a tough journey as well.”

Bowyer also discussed the trip to Wycombe

“Hopefully they travel in numbers because we always do well when the fans are bouncing, but I understand that a lot might have gone on Saturday and on a Tuesday night they could be working.

“I’m sure the ones who can go will go.”

Wycombe is a Tuesday night game so it will be a lot harder for fans to get to it. But it looks a like a lot of you have booked your days off work because it is a sell-out away end for us and on a Tuesday night that is fantastic to hear. I have a feeling this season is just getting more and more magical for Charlton and I really do feel this is our season to get back into the Championship.

All the little things are starting to fall into place, Dillion’s penalty saves, a sell-out crowd on a Tuesday night all these little things just scream out promotion for me!
