Last week Lee Bowyer held some kind of ultimatum (at least some sites were calling it that) to get his contract sorted after the West Brom game which was now ten days ago and still nothing has been sorted.
Bowyer has hinted that there are a few things that need tweaking and then they are there, however now there are two more reasons why Bowyer has not signed yet and that is because he wants Johnnie Jackson and Andy Marshall signed up at the same time as him, which Steve Gallen is sorting out with them to find a fair and sustainable contract for all of the backroom staff.
This has been going on for an extremely long time now, I never thought it would take that long with ESI at the helm but unfortunately, it is and once this has been sorted so will transfers as we could have a very busy final week ahead of us.
I’m not expecting any signings this week, just more rumours and speculation. Possibly something after the Fulham game but the positive thing is we have Sam Field, Lyle Taylor and Josh Cullen all coming back for Wednesday’s fixture.
This has been dragging on agonisingly long and I really cant wait to see the back of this situation and I’m sure most Charlton fans feel the same way!
