I continue my previous article relating to the influx of Standard Liege players grazing our turf. The latest addition is the 26 year old Dani Buyens whose contribution will be to strengthen our midfield. I think it is never a good idea to bring in too many loan players, albeit for the entire season.

Past seasons have proved that a team needs stability to yield an eleven man unit that will understand each other and think in unison. Such a team is worthy of loyal supporters. As in the past we again rely on the unknown ability of this player. Surely there are home-grown players out there itching for a chance to play for a club even if this means coming down a division.

The signs are not good. Roland salvaged a sinking ship and he is giving the Valley a needed overhaul. We must however not lose the main focus, the game. Is Roland influencing Bob Peeters in any way by passing on more players into our game than he really needs, or is there a genuine case to answer.

I have seen many bad decisions made over the decades while supporting this fine club. Everyone who loves being involved with Charlton will want us to be solid and backing the managing team, but we need them to give us something in return. A team we can be proud of.

Will this happen by signing more foreign players? I would like to think so, but I personally have my doubts.
