Former Charlton striker Izale McLeod has finally found himself a new club, however this new club is actually and old one as he’s returned to Barnet.

McLeod becomes the second former Addick this week to join The Bees (after Grant Basey) and the 25-year-old is looking to get his career back on track after disappointing form and misfortune with injuries in recent years, McLeod told The Official Barnet Website: “I am really looking forward to putting on a Barnet shirt, getting back to my best, playing football and scoring goals.

“I’ll be kick-starting my career as soon as possible and I am enjoying it at Barnet but, at the moment, it is one step at a time and I’m working on my rehab.”

Barnet’s chairman Tony Kleanthous thinks his signing is a big one, adding: “This is a real coup and potentially one of our biggest signings.”

It’s fair to say that McLeod wasn’t ever really a fans’ favourite at The Valley and many would use the term “striker” loosely when talking about him, however (even though I wasn’t sorry to see him leave) I gained a new found respect for him following some interviews that he gave over the summer so I’ll wish him well.
