Phil Parkinson’s reaction to Dagenham & Redbridge’s penalty award last Saturday landed him in hot water with the Football Association.

Parkinson was sent to the stands and has been charged with improper conduct. The Addicks boss admits now that he’s not pleased with himself for what he said, however he is happy that he did say something.

He will accept the charge and has no intention but to plead anything other than guilty and will then accept the punishment he is given, Parkinson told The Official Website: “I can’t deny what I said but I’m pleased I said it. I’ll take the punishment on the chin and I’ll be pleading guilty to the charge. I’m not pleased with myself for doing it but I asked the ref if he could explain to me why he gave the decision and he didn’t give me an explanation.

“I pointed out that 14,000 people cannot be wrong. I think he knew he’d made a mistake but his explanation wasn’t good enough and I lost my cool. I won’t win this one so I’ll take it on the chin.”
