The Addicks looked like they might have had to settle for a draw until substitute Izale McLeod turned the game to win two late penalties, both of which were duly converted by Andy Reid.
Chris Iwelumo had struck the bar, David Marshall denied Luke Varney, on his full debut, and Andy Reid also struck the bar with a free kick. However, Nicky Weaver also had to save well from Darren Huckerby to keep Norwich at bay.
Izale McLeod came on for Luke Varney with ten minutes to play and immediately tore into the Canaries defence, with his pace causing problems, and this won the first penalty with five minutes to play as Gary Doherty brought him down. Andy Reid, 85 minutes, stepped up and made no mistake.
Two minutes later and Izale McLeod was fouled again, this time by Julien Brellier. Again Andy Reid, 87 minutes, stepped up and the result was the same.
The match ended on a sour note with Dion Dublin being sent off for the Canaries in the last minute.
