Addicks skipper Andy Reid was rated as doubtful for the Republic of Ireland’s clash with Germany over the weekend, however he was passed fit and put in a great performance.

The midfielder overcame his injury concerns to put in a great display in the Republic of Ireland’s 0-0 draw. This saw him viewed by many as the best player on the pitch that day, something that we can most certainly relate to, having seen him put in some wonderful performances in the red of the Addicks, most recently against Barnsley, also a match that saw Zheng Zhi excel.

The fact that Andy Reid made it through that match, having been rated as doubtful at one point, had all but killed off any thoughts that perhaps he would be a doubt for our match with Wolves (taking place this weekend) but he has since missed some training, but this is viewed merely as a precautionary measure and he should be fit to represent the Republic of Ireland against Cyprus this midweek, and then Wolves at the weekend as Championship football returns.

I didn’t see the match myself, but so many have told me how good he was, and the reports seem to be glowing don’t they. We just have to hope that he comes through their next match ok so he will be fit for the weekend.
