Addicks Planning Move For Youngster

|

Charlton is planning on making a move for 20-year-old Aston Villa winger Rushian Hepburn-Murphy. After making just five appearances for The Villa this season he has fallen out of favour in The Lions ranks and it now may be time for him to get sent out on loan.

According to reports Coventry City are also in for Villa’s youngest appearance maker in the Premier League era and could be a better move for him location wise. Coventry took a big blow earlier this season as Jodi Jones injured his ACL for the second time in just two seasons and will be out for the rest of the 2018/19campaign, so if they are successful in acquiring his signature he will be a good replacement for the Sky Blues.

Right now, for us getting any player in is good, but we do need to look at the left-back situation and to my understanding that search is well underway as Lee Bowyer stated in an interview earlier on in the week. Lewis Page is meant to be back next month and if we can get someone in to back up our injury prone left-back then we can rest easy knowing it’s covered by an experienced full-back at least that’s what I hope for.

We do need some reliable back up for Lyle Taylor and Karlan Grant, so hopefully this could be the move we need, he is not known for scoring many goals, but neither was Grant until this season just goes to show you can always prove the doubters wrong and in this case I believe he may have a number of doubters over at Villa as some fans say he is not quite ready for Championship level and playing for Charlton could be the boost he needs.
