One man that has been impressing us Addicks fans is none other than the midfield mastermind and hard-worker Connor Gallagher who is currently on loan from Chelsea.
From the way this lad has been performing, he has surprised both his parent club and Charlton on his way to becoming a Premier League player.
In my opinion, I think he’s already there, yes bottom-half Premier League right now, but by the end of the season Chelsea will be excited to have him back and I’m sure he is in capable hands with Frank Lampard.
Lee Bowyer heaped on the praise for the youngster and speaking with The News Shopper he had this to say
“Conor isn’t bad, not a bad player! Has he surprised me? He’s scored five goals, one every two games, for a 19-year-old kid who’s never played men’s football before, he’ll surprise anyone!”
Although Bowyer said it’s five goals it is actually four he has scored (sorry Connor! and Bows) but nevertheless you can’t take anything away from the lad he has been instrumental in midfield so far this season and always arriving late in the box to secure a goal.
“I think he’s even surprised Chelsea, I don’t think they knew how far he could go so soon.
“They had people come in on Thursday.
“Makelele came in to speak to us about the loan, how’s Conor, their thoughts on him and they’re delighted.
“Conor is a good player, one to watch in the future.”
Gallagher who is a player Bowyer compares to himself has come on a bundle since arriving in SE7 and under the guidance of Lee Bowyer he will only go further.
