Youngster Moves To Guiseley

|

20-year-old centre-back Jo Cummings has completed a loan deal to go out to National League North side Guiseley on a month’s loan which will end on Saturday, November 17th.

The 6ft 2in defender joined us from his local team Sheffield United a club where he was a regular starter in the youth set-up, but he only made one first team appearance for The Blades in an EFL cup tie against Grimsby as a substitute, they went on to win 4-2.

Cummings came to Charlton on trial and managed to make it to Jason Euell’s U23s where he is a regular starter for the youngsters. He made his debut last year in the Checkatrade Trophy win against Fulham U21s as Joe Dodoo and Joe Aribo grabbed two late goals to give The Addicks the victory.

This could be a good move for Cummings as he looks to get more game time within the sixth division, let’s hope he comes out of the other end of this a player ready to battle for a spot in the first-team as we are in dire need of players in his position, so to get him out and playing would be great and it’s always good to see our youth players in the first-team.

A little bit of info about Guiseley, their manager is former Grimsby manager Marcus Bignot, also Cumming will team up with former Sheffield United Centre-back Terry Kennedy who was playing for The Blades at the same time as Jo so there will hopefully be a bit of chemistry between them.

Good luck to Jo and let’s hope he comes out the other end a bigger and better player!
