The news was hardly a surprise, the story had been broken in a Sunday newspaper a couple of weeks ago. The club’s statement was brief, suggesting that the parting of the ways may not have been entirely amicable.

Carlisle visit The Valley in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday looking to avenge the 4-0 drubbing they suffered on their visit earlier in the season.
