Curbs wants more of the team to chip in with goals to take the pressure of Darren Bent during matches.

Following Bent’s £2.5 million move from Ipswich in the summer, the striker has been in sensational form scoring seven goals in his first seven games. It has earned him not only a reputation in other teams as the man to stop but also an England call up.

Curbishley wants other players to chip in and take advantage of opposition defenders concentrating mainly on nullifying Bent.

‘Obviously he has raced off and had a fantastic start but we have been saying we need to get goals from other areas.

‘Danny Murphy has chipped in but for me the two wide players, Dennis Rommedahl and Jerome Thomas, have got to get more goals. We know that because Darren is going to go through a patch where he isn’t going to score and it will be up to us to work our way through that.’
