Parkinson Post Wycombe

Charlton returned to action, after a couple of weeks without a game to secure three points in a 2-1 win at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

Phil Parkinson was happy with the win and the performance, however he felt that we should’ve killed the game off sooner and this wasn’t something that pleased him in not doing so, Parkinson told BBC London 94.9: “We had chances in the game to kill it off in the first half.

“I thought it was an open game but we came here with a very attack minded formation with Jonjo [Shelvey] in behind the two strikers.

“We didn’t play with a left-sider, but the bottom line is Jonjo scored a goal.

“I thought the only time we were rusty was in the last 10 minutes when we were naive in killing the game off. That’s the only criticism I have of the boys today.”

We could’ve made it easier but the most important thing is we picked up the points!
