Full Of Eastern Promise

Can the Addicks take all three points at the twelfth attempt? Orient have suffered a couple of setbacks of their own recently, losing their club record 14 match unbeaten run at Brentford, then suffering a 5-1 reverse at home to Yeovil last Saturday.

Former Addick, Matt Spring, received an early red card and it was an uphill struggle for Orient after that. Spring will be suspended for this match and the visitors have doubts about skipper and influential midfielder, Stephen Dawson, as well as Ben Chorley and left-back Charlie Daniels. Jason Crowe is likely to fill Daniels’ berth with former Charlton loanee, Eliot Omozusi, on the right.

Frank Nouble could be fit for the Addicks as could Joe Anyinsah, who picked up a minor ankle knock at Spotland. Powell has opted for a setled side recently and stuck to a 4-4-2 formation.

Elliot will be in goal and will probably have an unchanged back-four in front of him. Simon Francis will be pushing for a recall though, as Chris Solly had a torrid time on Tuesday. Gary Doherty is another who will be looking to get back in the team.

The midfield quartet are also likely to be the same though both Nathan Eccleston and Michael Stewart will feel they have valid claims for a starting spot.

Fitness will be a key issue in deciding Bradley Wright-Phillips’ partner but Paul Benson was impressive when he came on for Anyinsah at Rochdale.

Powell could field this team:

Elliot; Solly, Dailly, Llera, Bessone; Wagstaff, Semedo, Parrett, Racon; Benson, Wright-Phillips.

Subs: Sullivan, Francis, Fortune, Doherty, Stewart, Reid, Eccleston.

The referee will be Simon Hooper from Wiltshire.

This could just be the match when the tide finally turns for Chris Powell, he will certainly be hoping so.
