Charlton have paid Dulwich Hamlet an initial £35,000 for the forward, who impressed in a recent trial.

Dickson will not be able to play for the first-team until next season as the deal is outside the transfer window.

‘It’s like a dream come true to sign for a Premiership club,” he told the club website.

‘It’s a massive step up for me but I’ve always been a confident player. I did my best to impress in the reserve game and thought I grabbed my chance with both hands.”

Previously of Erith & Belvedere, Dickson scored six goals in six games for Dulwich last season and continued his fine scoring form into the current campaign, helping his club to challenge for promotion from Ryman Division One South.

He has netted 31 goals in 35 games for Dulwich this season and Alan Pardew has decided to take the gamble on signing him now, rather than missing out.

Lets hope he turns out to be the next Darren Bent Bent Bent!
