The ex-Addicks defender, who made 167 league and cup appearances in the 1990s, rejoined us this week.

Also joining the club at the same time is Paul Haverson, with the duo both having previously worked with manager Alan Pardew at West Ham United.

‘On the scouting front I’ve bought in a couple of people in Paul and Phil, who were working with me at West Ham, and we are looking worldwide to try and improve the squad in this window,” said Pardew.

So far The Addicks haven’t made any signings in the transfer market, although it is expected that the arrivals will start flying through the door at The Valley next week.
