Can Charlton Oldham?

Frank Nouble’s loan has been extended until the end of the season. Possibly Nouble is being considered for a role next season, otherwise the move does not make much sense.

The Addicks will face old foes, Millwall, on Saturday 30 July at the New Den in a testimonial for Irish defender Alan Dunne.

The game at Boundary Park may see Powell make a change or two. Gary Doherty will be pressing for a recall, as will Frank Nouble. Dean Parrett’s hamstring may keep him out. If so, the impressive Michael Stewart is likely to be handed his first start.

Charlton could start with this team:

Elliot; Solly, Dailly, Llera, Bessone; Wagstaff, Semedo, Stewart, Racon; Nouble, Wright-Phillips.

Subs: Sullivan, Francis, Fortune, Doherty, Reid, Eccleston, Benson.

The referee will be Kevin Wright of Cambridgeshire.

Oldham are another team with little to play for so there is even the possibility that Charlton’s 74 match run without a 0-0 draw could come to an end. What perfect symmetry, the run started back in September 2009 at The Valley against…..Oldham.
