So just to kick things off blast from the past will be an article about a former player or manager that you might have forgotten about and just little something to refresh your memory about this player or manager that we once grew to love or just hated the moment he walked on to The Valley pitch, we will be kicking this one of with Claus Jensen.

Back in 1995 Claus Jensen was introduced in to the footballing world with Naesteved BK in Denmark and also at the time he made his debut for the Denmark U19 team.
After appearing just four times for Naesteved they were relegated and Jensen then signed for Lyngby Boldklub in 1996 where he really shot up as a midfielder scoring 14 times in 68 games between 96 and 98 he also scored 11 goals in his final season at Lyngby whch is a great number for a central midfielder.

In July 1998 Jensen signed for Bolton who were in the Championship at the time for £1.8million where he joined the likes of former Charlton players Mark Fish and Andy Todd also he played with Iceland`s record goalscorer and former Barcelona and Chelsea player Ediur Gudjohnsen.
In the 1998-1999 season Jensen made the most appearances for the club which was a total of 54 which already set some alarm bells off for mid table premier league sides.
Jensen decided to stay another season at Bolton and that season paid off as he made his first appearance for Denmark and he broke his record of appearances to 55 for the season which had Charlton Athletic interested in him.

In July 2000 Claus Jensen signed for Charlton for £4million which was a high price tag for a player in the Championship but he made an impact on the premiership very quickly with memorable goals such as the one against Manchester City where the ball cannoned off of him from around 40 yards out which ended up lobbing former Charlton keeper Nicky Weaver on the 30th of December 2000.
Also another goal that he will always be remember for was that fantastic lob in the also memorable game against Arsenal which we won 4-2 at Highbury which easily could have won goal of the season.
Jensen continued to play very well throughout games and he was a real game changer whenever he was on the pitch.
Jensen was very successful at Charlton and he also started to make regular appearances for Denmark one of the memorable ones were his hat-trick against Egypt in February 2003 he also represented Denmark in Euro 2004 making 4 appearances.

After four years at Charlton Jensen moved on to London rivals Fulham for £1.25million in July 2004 where he would retire due to many injuries and also now being able to adapt to Lawrie Sanchez`s long ball game.

On August 25th 2007 Jensen retired from football and he now works as a commentator for a Danish TV channel giving his views on Premier League games.
