Charlton have allowed Ben Alnwick to leave the club, with the ‘keeper moving on to join Leyton Orient.

The Addicks turned to Powell in September when he was snapped up to compete with Ben Hamer with him making his debut against Doncaster Rovers in November when Hamer was injury in the warm-up.

Alnwick’s final game for Charlton, also against Doncaster, came in the three-nil defeat on Tuesday and with Orient in need of another ‘keeper and the Addicks not really short in that department it was decided that he would be allowed to join the league one outfit on a permanent basis.

Hamer will soon be back from his latest injury with Yohann Thuram-Ulien brought in on loan from Standard Liege recently, with him likely to come into the starting XI this weekend.
