Phil Parkinson is still hopeful that Akpo Sodje’s loan spell with Charlton can be extended further.

Sodje arrived on loan back in November but this technically ended this weekend and as the Hartlepool game was postponed the final game of this loan wasn’t played.

Parkinson admits that we’ve been talking to Sheffield Wednesday about extending this loan but doesn’t know what will happen, Parkinson told The Official Website: “We’ve been talking to Sheffield Wednesday about Akpo.

“It’s unfortunate for him (postponement) because he did really well to play 90 minutes against Brentford, and there was an opportunity for him to play two more games for us and himself, because he needs football.

“He hasn’t played much over the last 12 months, but we’re talking to Wednesday and we’ll see if that progresses over the next few days.”

We’ve had mixed messages on Sodje and the 28-year-old and we don’t really know if we can keep him or not all we can do is wait and see what does happen I suppose?
