Luke Young has been added to the England squad.

The Charlton right-back, 27, was called up by coach Steve McClaren as doubts linger over the fitness of Man City’s Micah Richards.

The City star is struggling with a calf injury ahead of the Euro 2008 qualifiers with Israel and Andorra.

Manchester United captain Gary Neville is already out with an ankle problem.

Young’s last appearance for his country came in the thrilling 3-2 win over Argentina in Geneva in November 2005.

Young has joined up with goalkeeper Scott Carson and the rest of the squad for today`s training session at the new Wembley stadium.

Darren Bent withdrew earlier this week as a precaution after struggling again with his knee injury.
