Chris Powell has admitted you never forget your first! Of course he was referring to Bradley Wright-Phillips, who became his first signing as a manager when he got his chance with Charlton.

The writing was on the wall for the 28-year-old for most of last season after he was shipped out on loan to Brentford. Finally it has been officially confirmed that he’s been released at the end of his contract.

Wright-Phillips could now make a permanent switch to the Bees, however he leaves with the clubs best wishes. As he should as to be fair, as without his goals Charlton might still be languishing in League One!
