Tony Watt’s surprise, which did seem to be a surprise, loan exit has brought about rumours of his discontent at Charlton? At least his own relationship breakdown with Charlton interim Head Coach Karel Fraeye!

Whatever the reason behind former Celtic striker Watt’s Addicks exit this week, albeit in a short-term capacity at the moment, for Cardiff the Scotsman has played down ‘false reasons’ behind this.

Reports had claimed the 21-year-old was involved in a ‘training ground bust-up’ with Fraeye.

This has, apparently, left the pair with ‘a relationship breakdown’ that couldn’t be repaired, which was behind him being left out of the Charlton side. But he says isn’t true with him taking to social media to have his say.

The (former?) Addicks man said.

‘Excited for this chapter at Cardiff City FC sad when people make up false reasons for me leaving! Never said thanks to Charlton supporters because at this moment in time it’s a loan and never know what the future holds.’

As Watt says we’ll see ‘what the future holds’ but following such an abrupt departure would a return to the Valley seem likely?

In other (not such savoury news) too we’ve seen Richard Rufus move on!

The former Charlton defender had been with the club’s academy and Community Trust but following him being ‘judged a fraudster’ in a multi-million point fraud the 40-year-old has severed ties with the Addicks.
