Which former Charlton player will come out victorious in this London derby?

|

Charlton will be looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat against Swansea City, as they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage in their second London derby of the season, as well as their third televised game on Sky Sports.

Tomorrow’s fixture sees the clash of two former teammates in Lee Bowyer and Scott Parker. The former midfielders will both be looking to lead their sides to victory and continue their great start to the season.

The Addicks’ 2-1 loss to the Swans sees them slip to eighth place in the Championship, whereas the Cottagers sit in fifth having demolished Reading 4-1 on Tuesday night, with just one point separating the two London teams.

Beram Kayal, Lyle Taylor, Tomer Hemed and Lewis Page will remain sidelined for Charlton in tomorrow’s game.

Lee Bowyer also announced in this morning’s press conference that left back Ben Purrington is likely to be missing, after suffering a groin injury in Wednesday’s game against Swansea. Chuks Aneke also suffered a groin issue, but he could be available for the match.

For Fulham, Scott Parker revealed that he has no real injury concerns, giving him a full squad to choose from.

Tyler’s Take

We’re well into our tough run of games now and we’ve done a lot better than I previously thought.

A win against Leeds was certainly not what I was expecting and I was left bitterly disappointed with the defeat against Swansea as I felt the points should have been shared. Nevertheless, we put in two very solid performances and they’ve still kept us in a very good position in the table, which is slowly but surely starting to take shape.

However, I’m not feeling too confident for tomorrow’s early kick-off. I tipped Fulham to win the league this season and they are more than capable of doing so with some of the players they have. Aleksander Mitrovic, Ivan Cavaleiro, Anthony Knockaert, Tom Cairney, Harrison Reed, Harry Arter, Maxime Le Marchand, just to name a few! They are a very deadly side and they will punish us if we invite them in.

Our defenders have to be on top of their game to keep out Fulham’s menacing attack and our strikers have to take their chances. I hate being negative before a game, but I am expecting a defeat here for Charlton.

Score Prediction: Fulham 2-1 Charlton Athletic
