It has also been claimed by another journalist called Matt Wilson that Barnsley are also interested. Matt Wilson is a West Bromwich Albion reporter at Express and Star and is most likely a trusted source going by his credentials.
I'm told Charlton, Wigan and Shrewsbury have all put in loan offers for West Brom's Sam Field. Wigan and Barnsley also made permanent bids but Baggies don't want to sell. One to watch before the deadline

Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about Sam Field and looking into him now Matt Wilson said “he has a very mature head” in a video posted by Express and Star on Youtube in November 2017. With the way they speak about him, it seems as though he is a great player and they fully expect him to be in the England squad within the next three or four years.
Barnsley, Wigan, Shrewsbury and Charlton are all keen to take Sam Field on loan, but none have met #wba's conditions yet. Considering the midfield players Albion have signed so far, it's time to let Field go and play if he's not going to at The Hawthorns

Sam also has Premier League experience playing 19 games in total for the Baggies. Despite those games in the Premier League he never got a real shout in the Championship either and a loan move away could see him progress to the next level and under Lee Bowyer, there’s no doubt in my mind he will reach those heights.
With this “mature head” he has got I think that for Bowyer is Sam’s biggest selling point, Lee only wants to bring in level headed players and players who will work hard and that all starts with the maturity in their personality. I hope we can get this one over the line as deadline day looms over us.
