Charlton star Nicky Weaver could miss the start of the Championship season after injuring himself while warming up for Saturday’s friendly with Brighton, which the Addicks won 1-0.
Alan Pardew is now waiting on the results of a scan before deciding whether to try and sign ad additional goalkeeper on loan.
Behind Weaver in the pecking order are youngsters Rob Elliot, Darren Randolph and Callum Christie. Randolph is out on loan at Hereford and the remaining two have a lack of Championship experience under their belts.
