Walsall v Charlton – Preview

|

Charlton travels to Walsall tonight in which will be a very tough clash between the two. Charlton is badly injury hit going into this game coming off the back of a 2-0 home win against Doncaster. Walsall has not managed to beat us since 2011 and we have competed in 6 games winning three and drawing three. Charlton played Walsall for the very first time in 1927 as Walsall came away 1-0 winners. Since then we have competed in thirty-four games winning sixteen, losing ten and drawing eight, not a bad record and hopefully we can make it 17 wins tonight.

Now for some facts about the hosts
Founded-1888
Nickname-The Saddlers
Ground-Bescot Stadium(11,300)
Manager-Dean Keates
Top scorer-Andy Cook(6)

Former Charlton captain Mark Kinsella played for The Saddlers from 2004-2006 making 43 appearances.

In team news we will start of with the home team as Adam Chambers is out with a foot injury, while midfielder Joe Edwards is out with a knee injury. Also Kory Roberts is out with a broken leg.
Charlton have taken several injury blows ahead of this match, unfortunately Lyle Taylor looks to be out with a groin injury as Ben Reeves and Anfernee Dijksteel are out with hamstring injuries. It’s not looking good on our part.

I reckon we could nick a win but I don’t think it will be an easy one Walsall can be a strong side and I think we are better team in quality of the players we have but, with all these injuries we have its going to be hard to get past this side. I think we can do 1-0 tonight it will be a tough game but I just got a feeling that we will come out on top.
