The Charlton future of Scott Wagstaff has been assured after he signed a new contract today.

Wagstaff returning to training on Monday made it likely that the 20-year-old would sign a new contract and last season’s Young Player of the Year has done just that, committing his future to The Addicks for the next two-years.

The midfielder told The Official Website: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal. It shows the club has faith in my ability and now I’m looking forward to pushing on this season.”

What did I say yesterday. I thought that he would sign this contract before the pre-season friendly against AFC Wimbledon tomorrow and he has so he’ll now feature.
