Charlton secured a win over Southend in League 1 on Saturday.

A late winner – as midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey beat a former Brighton teammate, on-loan Southend keeper Christian Walton – secured Charlton a crucial 2-1 win over the play-off chasing side.

The Addicks – previously ahead through Ricky Holmes’ goal – moved five points clear of relegation danger with a first victory in six – ironically this win over the Shrimpers allowed bitter rivals Millwall to profit as they moved back into the play-off places.
