Vetokele switches loan to network club

What a promising talent Vetokele was when he signed for the club he had a Champions League appearance under his belt and not a bad goal record either, but he has fell out of touch due to injuries and less game time for himself as his performances of late have been far from convincing.

The Angolan international who made the move from Danish side FC Copenhagen back in 2014 for £2.4m has had a career down spiral as a surprise loan move to Zulte Waregem has seen him play 15 games and not have a single goal next to his name, but maybe now there is another chance for him to redeem himself.

The Belgian born Angolan has seen his loan move at Waregem cancelled and now he has been relocated 143km away from his temporary home to be put in the Sint-Truiden squad a club that is owned by our controversial owner Roland Duchatelet who is obviously seeing Vetokele as a nice cheap move to the east of Belgium.

The faith in Vetokele is surely out of touch by now after the disastrous spell at Waregem because in my opinion I surely have lost the faith in him mainly due to his injury prone and now his inconsistent performances in the Jupiler Pro League have led to him looking like a liability upfront, but football players should always be given a second chance and that`s exactly what Vetokele has been given here as he will link up with fellow Charlton team mate Cristian Ceballos who has made 12 appearances and scored just the one goal.

Hopefully linking up with Christian will do Igor some good and he can either be brought back to Charlton in form with Cristian or sold on for a profitable fee but that is not looking likely.
