Peter Varney’s return to Charlton, even though it was in a non-executive role has ended.

Varney’s resignation from his non-executive director of Charlton Athletic plc was announced on The Official Website on Thursday afternoon with plc chairman Richard Murry saying: “I would like to thank Peter for his assistance with the recent refinancing exercise, and I’m pleased that he will continue to assist the board to identify potential new investment in the club.”

Varney with at SE7 from 1997 until 2008 and returned to the board in September 2009.

    He’s still looking for investment for us though isn’t he, is it because he again wants to be part of a takeover that he’s backed out of this role?
