Two players make their returns after long-term injuries

|

Jake Forster-Caskey made his first appearance since suffering the devastating ACL injury that was expected to take him out for the entire season before it even started. Also, on the return list was left-back Lewis Page who has been out with a groin injury since last year.

Lewis Page had the most game time out of the two with 62 minutes on the pitch he also had a decent shot in the second half which had to force a good save from the Burnley keeper.

Now I didn’t see the game, but I have heard a lot of good things about the duo’s return to football. Jake Forster-Caskey played 45 minutes in the 3-0 win, providing an assist for the first goal which was put away on a half-volley by Alfie Doughty.

Absolutely fantastic to see these guys back out on the pitch especially JFC, who has been working so hard since the start of the season to gain full fitness and he is finally just around the corner. Could we see him on the bench potentially for the Scunthorpe game?

I think Friday’s fixture against Oxford United might be a bit too early for him in fitness wise and this game will be a very physical affair with Charlton battling for second spot, whilst Karl Robinson’s Ox’s seem to be safe from relegation, but he will want to get one back on his former team.

With Lewis Page, I think he might be more physically ready for a first-team game than what Jake is purely because he hasn’t made a first-team appearance this season.

We will have to see how it plays out, but it’s great to see them both back to a good amount of fitness!
