Charlton Athletic have announced that Uruguayan duo Gonzalo Sorondo and Omar Pouso have both left the club.

Defender Sorondo, 27, brought to the club on a season-long loan from Italians Internazionale in summer 2005 under former boss Alan Curbishley.

Injuries meant that the defender only made a hatful of appearances after his deal was made permanent.

Also leaving The Valley is fellow Uruguayan Omar Pouso, who signed on a season-long loan on the final day of the August window. He made his Charlton debut under Dowie against Portsmouth in mid-September, playing the opening 45 minutes before being withdrawn due to hamstring injury, but between them Sorondo and Pouso played just 105 Premiership minutes in 2006/07.

Also exiting The Valley is the General Manager of football Andrew Mills. Mills joined the club along with Iain Dowie’s staff to attract signings and help Dowie deal with all the comings and goings.

Alan Pardew seems to want to do things his own way and so Mills has been shown the door.
