The Robins v The Addicks

Three defeats in a row were halted on Saturday when a ten man Addicks side managed to snatch an injury time winner over Southampton to move us back up to fourth (at the time.)
Looking to build on this we have the even tougher trip to second in the table Bristol City, who currently have a five-point advantage over us.

The Robins Team News:

The Robins have an unchanged squad from the weekend from which they can select, which might see David Noble start after coming on as a substitute on Saturday.

Player to watch: Lee Trundle

He may have only scored three goals this season but the big man is a threat, so if we give him a glimmer of a chance he’ll take it, as will Darren Byfield.

The Addicks Team News:

Jose Semedo is suspended after his sending-off at Southampton, if fit Matt Holland could return, otherwise Darren Ambrose or Therry Racon could be lined up to replace him.
Chris Powell, Ben Thatcher and Cory Gibbs remain on the sidelines.

Player to watch: Chris Iwelumo

The Addicks strikers haven’t exactly been scoring as freely as we might have liked, but his injury time winner against the Saints could be just the tonic he was looking for.

Match Facts & Stats

The last meeting at Ashton gate came in March 1995. Alan Pardew scored, but it was little more than an injury time consolation as the Robins won 2-1.
The reverse fixture that season was a 3-2 victory for the Addicks, Paul Mortimer and two from David Whyte earned the win.
The Addicks haven’t won at Ashton gate for sixteen years, playing six matches, but a twenty-year wait ended at Southampton on Saturday.

Match Prediction:

Tough to call, the boost we should have received from the win over the Saints could carry us forward here again, but the Robins are no mugs, they sit second in the table by rights.
A win is possible, and I’d not bet against it, but surely we would settle for a point.

Next Fixture:

Cardiff at the Valley on Saturday.
