Tahnoon Nimer provides fans with a statement after Matt Southall’s removal from The Valley by Police

|

Last week was one hell of a rollercoaster with the coup at The Valley resulting in Police turning up to remove a trespasser who was indeed Charlton’s shamed chairman Matt Southall and to top it all off, it looks like another ball will not be kicked again this season as Coronavirus hits the UK and takes out all major sporting events and large gatherings.

Can you get 31/31 on this Charlton player of the year quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who won player of the year in 2020?

It’s fair to say that Charlton fans really deserve a break from bad owners and if Tahnoon Nimer actually wants to take the club forward I’m fully behind him, the way he conducts himself on Instagram he does seem like he wants to do exactly that, but also he has proven to be quite reckless after posting Matt Southall’s address on Instagram, but I guess it was a way of forcing him out of the club.

It was reported in Nimer’s statement which was posted on Instagram this morning that there are some heroes at our club who made Nimer aware of Southall’s wrongdoings and I believe one of them to be none other than club secretary Chris Parkes as he was suspended pending an investigation, Parkes had later received news that the investigation had come to the conclusion that he had done nothing wrong and was reinstated last Thursday, which is true as I saw him in reception at the training ground after the press conference.

Nimer also explained why he was using Instagram to deal with such a serious situation and his response was that he wanted to speak to the fans and get their opinions on Matt Southall after evidence was released about Southall’s spendings on the clubs accounts, Tahnoon also wanted to see if he had the fans support (which he did) and this is mainly why his thoughts of backing out of the deal were forgotten.

It shows he is a man who likes passion and thrives from it just as we do as a team and fans, that seems to be what has swayed Nimer to be on our side rather than backing out and letting us become extinct, hopefully he just had the right mind, ideas and money to actually do the job here as none of that has yet been proven to The EFL, although it looks like theirs no more barriers in his way now.

Here is Nimer’s statement
