At times you have one of those games where you feel that it’s just not going to happen is it? Charlton had one of these against Norwich City on Saturday.

We had all the possession and plenty of efforts at goal yet the ones that were on target were saved by The Canaries goalkeeper Fraser Forster who was in wonderful form, then we ended up losing 1-0.

Deon Burton, one of those to be denied by Forster believes that we played some of our best football of the season at The Valley on Saturday but conceded that he too felt that Forster was going to have one of those days, Burton said: “We deserved something from the game and it’s not nice watching your opponents celebrate promotion on your ground.

“I thought we played some of our best football of the season in the second half. Their goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, was outstanding and as a striker it crosses your mind that maybe he wasn’t going to be beaten.”

Our strikers haven’t really been clinical enough this season and not really having a big enough goal threat is the reason we’re still battling it out for an automatic place and not in one of these two places now, if not having already secured this.

It was a frustrating day for all Addicks but we’ve got to put it behind us and make sure that we play like that in our remaining 3 games but hope we don’t come up against a goalkeeper as inspired as Forster was!

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Deon Burton’s thought? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

Scoring goals seems to be the main problem.

The story of our season really. FF was in fine form though, isn’t he on loan from Newcastle?
