Sodje states a case for the defence.

Charlton Athletic star Sam Sodje made a massive leap of 147 places making him this week’s highest mover in the Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Coca-Cola Championship.

His 53-point haul in the 3-0 defeat of Cardiff on Saturday was the highest score for a defender this season and moved the Nigerian up to 280th overall with 71 points.

Addicks striker Chris Iwelumo also enjoyed a profitable week, with his two goals in two appearances helping earn him 55 points and moving him up to 27th position.

Midfielder Andy Reid moved into the top 20 after netting 58 points across the week, rising to 19th overall, a place behind Chinese team-mate Zheng Zhi.

Analysis of all Championship games is taking place throughout the season and so far the top five Charlton players are:

Zheng Zhi – 18th – 6th Ranked Defender
Andy Reid – 19th – 5th Ranked Midfielder
Chris Iwelumo – 27th – 11th Ranked Striker
Nicky Weaver – 34th – 2nd Ranked Goalkeeper
Jonathan Fortune – 46th – 15th Ranked Defender

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.

  • Charlton Addickt says:

Sodje has been really good from what I have seen and hopefully this loan can be made permanent in January. I’m still surprised that Reading have let him go really.
