Robins Robbed

Grant Basey and Jonjo Shelvey were recalled at the expense of Chris Solly and Deon Burton who dropped to the bench.

The visitors lined-up with Bailey and Racon in holding roles with Shelvey playing behind lone striker, Akpo Sodje, flanked by Wafstaff and Reid.

Swindon dominated for much of the opening period and hit the bar as early as the twelfth minute. Indeed, the visiting fans had to wait until the 39th minute before they saw their team have a shot, a Shelvey thunderbolt which hit the bar.

Parkinson opted to replace Wagstaff with Semedo at the break in an attempt to wrest the initiative from Swindon. Three minutes later he was forced into making another change when Racon sustained a cut head and had to be replaced by Solly.

The Robins took an overdue lead after 64 minutes when Kevin Amankwaah stabbed home following a right-wing corner. Basey was immediately replaced by Burton in the manager’s last throw of the dice.

The move paid off in injury time when Burton rolled the ball to Bailey for the skipper to fire into the bottom left-hand corner.

The delight of the visitors was plain for all to see. Swindon must have felt that they has been mugged.
