Reid To The Rescue

An entertaining game, even if neither keeper was over worked, saw the two teams share the spoils. The blustery conditions did not help matters.

Charlton were without their two leading scorers, Deon Burton and Nicky Bailey. The skipper was sidelined with an ankle problem that had been kept quiet.

Randolph replaced the injured Elliot in goal, Reid came in for Bailey with new boy, Nicky Forster, demoting Akpo Sodje to the bench. Forster had a fine game albeit he only had scraps to feed on all afternoon.

Huddersfield took the lead early in the second-half when a breakaway down the right saw Jordan Rhodes head home a right-wing delivery.

The Terriers joy was short lived however, Kyel Reid drove in from the left to fire across goal and into the bottom corner of Smithies’ goal.

Both sides had chances to take all three points but the final ball invariably let them down. All-in-all, a draw was a fair result.

I’d have obviously liked all three points but I’m happy enough with the one we got.
