Portsmouth defender Linvoy Primus is to join Charlton on loan for the rest of the season next week.

It is a return to a former club for Primus who started his career with The Addicks as a YTS boy but failed to make the grade at The Valley.

Primus looks a doubt for the Preston game next week as he is recovering from injury.

Alan Pardew also indicated that he may be close to securing another loan signing before the end of the transfer window.

A Pompey legend. We wish him well.

We were expecting a defender to sign from the Premier League club but I don’t think that any of us thought it would be Primus! Will he be fit enough to do the job?

He’s been written off more times than the thylocene, but always gets back to top form in no time after injury.
I don’t doubt for a second that he will be outstanding for you if he can avoid injury. PS: No you can’t keep him, he’s probably got a job for life with us when he packs up playing!
