Points Away!

A dramatic late strike from former Fox, Paddy McCarthy grabbed Charlton a point at Leicester City. In a game of few chances it was The Foxes who took the lead in the 78th minute through Stephen Clemence.

Chris Iwelumo was lucky not too have been sent off as early as the 13th minute when he caught Richard Steerman with a raised arm.

In a very quiet first half except two Leicester substitutions, it was the hosts that went closest. Hume struck his shot into the side netting and Bougherra cleared off the line from Steerman.

Charlton entered the second half the more brighter with Luke Varney having a trio of shots saved by Leicester ‘keeper Martin Fulop.

A minute after Varney’s latter chance Matty Fryatt crossed for former Brum player Stephen Clemence to nod home.

The lead lasted untill the last minute when a Charlton free-kick was not cleared and Paddy McCarthy was able to hook the ball home to snatch a late point.
