Charlton have decided to send out young striker Joe Pigott on loan, with him joining league one outfit Gillingham.

Pigott’s first-team debut came this season and he marked this with a goal, with him prolific in the development squad. He had gone on to make 10 appearances for the Addicks this season but his best bet of some regular first-team action at the moment is during a loan spell away.

The 20-year-old will spent the next month, at least, with the Gills and it is a move that should benefit all concerned.

Another striker still destined to leave Charlton is Yann Kermorgant.

So far, despite a fee being agreed with Bournemouth for the 32-year-old striker and Chris Powell admitting that he could go but when speaking on Thursday lunchtime he said that his departure wasn’t “imminent”, however he only had until 11pm on Friday to finalise this.
