Charlton cap another great win.

Another great performance but from the youngsters this time, just three minutes in to the game saw Mikhail Kennedy tap in his first senior goal as keeper Ben Alnwick lost the ball from the palm of his hands only for Kennedy to stroke it home early on in the game.

There was a host of names in the team last night but not the normal ones in fact the youngsters all came in and with the way that they all played we can see there is a bright future for us and them as players like Callum Harriott, Regan Charles-Cook, Mikhail Kennedy, Karlan Ahearne-Grant, Harry Lennon and Oliver Muldoon all featured for the Addicks and they defiantly took their chance to repay the travelling fans for coming to watch them sweep aside Peterborough.

The second goal for Charlton came through KAG in the second half as he stroked one home from the penalty spot to mark his second goal of the season after Kennedy was taken down by Alex Davey to claim the penalty.

Then finally the man was back in business Igor Vetokele was re-introduced to the fans as Luzon brought him on just after the hour mark as Ahmed Kashi came on with him and what a game these two would have.

The third of the game came from Ahmed Kashi as he scored his first goal for Charlton in spectacular style as he intercepted the ball from a Peterborough player and took a shot from an amazing 50 yards out to loop the ball over former Charlton keeper Ben Alnwick to make it 3-0 to Charlton in the best possible style.

Later on as it stared to get to kicking out time Igor Vetokele bagged a goal on his return as Ollie Muldoon set up Igor as he volleyed it in to the back of the net to make it 4-0 and to mark the end of Charlton’s goals for this game.

Just a few minutes later the Posh got one back through Anderson as he notched one in to the bottom right hand corner of the net to spoil Nick Pope’s clean sheet for the night, which was a shame because that defiantly would have done his confidence good.

As some of us waited patiently for the draw to come on after watching a penalty shootout between Luton and Stoke the draw finally came and when Crystal Palace came up first the Charlton fans were wishing for it to be Charlton and Charlton it was as The Valley fans could not contain their excitement for one of our biggest rivalries to once again be played in the form of the Capital One Cup and the last time we played them in this tournament was in 2004 as Palace unfortunately beat us 2-1 as the cult hero Hermann Hreidarsson scored a rare goal for Charlton as Dougie Freedman and Sandor Torghelle scored the two goals for Palace, let’s not hope for a repeat performance.

What did you think of the game? What are your thoughts on the draw?
