Charlton rescued a point against Tranmere on Saturday, however Phil Parkinson wasn’t happy.

It was an improvement in the second half but The Addicks boss wasn’t happy with the first half in particular, Parkinson told BBC London 94.9: “It was disappointing. In the first half Tranmere came to slow the game down and we needed to up the tempo. That’s what we talked about at half time.

“We needed to pick up the pace of the game and look to play forward, I though we went backwards too much in the first half.”

Things were going really well a few weeks back and we managed to get right back into the race for The League 1 title but more recently since we had a couple of games postponed we’ve dropped off and the improvement from Norwich is having an affect on us according to Parkinson, he added: “Ever since games were called off and Norwich had that terrific run and went past us, there’s been an edginess here and its been reflected in our play.”
