I have to admit that I felt that we had a good chance of beating Peterborough, however going to London Road and winning 5-1 was not something high in my thoughts!

Posh have been up and down all season, they seem to be able to win 5-0 one week and then lose 5-0 the next so this was possible. However going to their ground and hammering them was still very much a surprise but a surprise that was very pleasant and not something I’d turn away.

Phil Parkinson has similar thoughts and felt our first half showing was brilliant, Parkinson told BBC London 94.9: “To win so convincingly away from home is something you don’t usually expect, but we’re pleased.

“In the first half, I thought we put in an outstanding performance and in the second it was all about being professional.”

The Addicks boss was disappointed that Posh got a goal back in the second half and those fears that a Carlisle United style comeback (when they came back from 3-0 down at half time before we finally won 4-3) crossed my mind, and I would’ve thought Parkinson’s too? However the fifth goal killed off the game, he added: “Unfortunately we conceded a goal but then we killed it off with a fifth one.”

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Phil Parkinson’s thought on the win at Peterborough? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.
